David Carson


An American Graphic Designer.
David Carson was born September 8, 1954 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is best known for his innovative magazine design and use of experimental typography. He was the art director for the magazine Ray Gun. 
Carson was perhaps the most influential graphic designer of the 1990s. During the period 1989_2004 David Carson has won over 170 Awards for his work in graphic design. Some of them include: Best overall design, society of publication designers in New York
Cover of the Year, Society of publication designers in New York.
Award of best use of photography in graphic design.
In November 1995 he published his first book the End of Print, which sold over 200,000 copies in five different languages. The second book 2nd Sight was published in 1997. it is said that this book changed the public face of graphic design ( Newsweek).
Third book which won the Award of Best Use of Photography in graphic design in 1999 was Fotografiks.
The fourth book, Trek was released in 2000.

2009 when  I started my Graphic Design course at Northampton College, my first project was to do some research about some of the famous graphic designer. My first designer was David Carson and from that time I really loved his design and try to get some idea from his design.
